The Future of Dictionary Cleaner
As some of you may know, I am a Computer Science student in Utah. I wrote Dictionary Cleaner over the summer, when I actually had free time. Over the course of the fall semester, I developed a new version of dictionary cleaner, which included support for Firefox and Office dictionaries as well as the system-wide ones. It worked fine, but I was never really happy with a few of its limitations. This semester is my last spring semester so I am taking a capstone course which requires me to work alone on a software project over the course of the semester. I have decided to take this opportunity to completely overhaul Dictionary Cleaner. More detailed information is available in my proposal here. I don't have to release exactly what I produce for the course, but that's where I'm heading right now. Feel free to contact me if you have any comments or suggestions.
Thanks,
Rich
Dictionary Cleaner Featured in Macworld Magazine
Well, not really featured, but mentioned!
From page 56 of the November 2008 issue:
To correct Pages' dictionary, you'll need Two AM Software's free Dictionary Cleaner (www.twoamsoftware.com). Once you've installed it, open System Preferences and click on Dictionary Cleaner. A new preference pane will open, in which you may delete or add words. You may need to log out of and back into your user account in order for the changes to take effect.
Thanks, Macworld!
